This guide will explain how to unlock an ELD Benchmark Assessment in Summit K12's TELPAS Readiness course. TELPAS Readiness assessments are only available in grades 2-12.
1. Log in and select My Courses.
2. Navigate to a class whose assessments you wish to unlock. Assessments can be found in the Listening-Speaking or Reading-Writing courses.
3. Select the leftmost icon titled ELD Benchmarks-PLPs.
Listening-Speaking benchmarks:
Reading-Writing benchmarks:
4. Now you will see a list of assessments. Listening and Speaking domains are tested together while Reading and Writing domains are tested together.
Click the red-lock icon of the assessment you wish to administer. The green-lock icon indicates the assessment is unlocked and available for students to access. If a Testing Window has been set by your district, you will only be able to unlock the assessment within those dates.
Teachers, Support Teachers, School Admins, or District Admins may unlock assessments for courses they have access to. This process should be repeated for any class that has assessments you wish to administer*.
Students will navigate to the unlocked assessment in the same manner as the teacher. If students attempt to start an assessment that is still locked, the cursor will change to .
When a student submits an assessment, a PLP (Personalized Learning Plan) will generate. For more details, see the related articles below:

*Users can only unlock assessments for products that are live and available. Attempts to unlock assessments that are not currently available to users won't be recognized.
