This guide will explain how to unlock a STAAR Practice Test in Summit K12's Science course. Science assessments are only available in the STAAR-tested grade levels.
1. Select My Courses.
2. Navigate to a class whose assessment you wish to unlock. Assessments are found in the bottom STAAR Review section. Unlock this section first, then select the STAAR Practice Test icon.
3. Click the red-lock icon . The green-lock icon
indicates the assessment is unlocked and available for students to access.
Lead Teachers, Support Teachers, School Admins, or District Admins may unlock assessments for courses they have access to. This process should be repeated for any class that has assessments you wish to administer*.
Students will navigate to the unlocked assessment in the same manner as the teacher. If students attempt to start an assessment that is still locked, the cursor will change to .
When a student submits their placement test, a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) will generate. For more details, see the related articles below:

*Users can only unlock assessments that are live and available. Attempts to unlock assessments that are not currently available to users won't be recognized.
