TELPAS Readiness Writing offers various constructed response quizzes for students to practice their writing. This component is housed in the Reading-Writing course in the Writing section. The item type quizzes with constructed responses will vary by grade level:
Writing Fundamentals (1st) | TELPAS Writing Readiness (2nd-12th) |
These quizzes are not auto-scored by our system, so when teachers choose to unlock these quizzes as standalone assignments or if they appear in students' PLPs, teachers are encouraged to score the responses using the built-in rubrics provided to provide a more accurate reflection of the student's writing capabilities*. Once they have been scored, these quizzes will be factored into the students' Writing average in the Composite Summary Report.
