This specialized course is designed for students who are new to the English language. Throughout the course, students will explore seven comprehensive modules, each tailored to enhance their language skills. Whether students are just embarking on their language learning journey or looking to refine their existing knowledge, students will gain confidence and grow their language skills.
Phonemic Fundamentals
This section introduces students to the fundamentals of English sounds. It includes mini lessons, virtual mirror practices, Pronunciation Perfector practices to refine pronunciation, and additional listening, speaking, and writing practices for the consonant letter and vowel sounds.
Distinct Sounds of English
This section builds on the Phonemic Fundamentals by introducing students to vowel and consonant digraph sounds, initial and final sounds, and suffixes. Students will explore mini lessons, virtual mirror practices, Pronunciation Perfector practices to refine pronunciation, and additional listening, speaking, and writing practices focusing on the distinct sounds of English.
High Frequency Words
In this section students will explore high frequency words and gain familiarity with the words that make up the majority of the English language. Students will practice using the words in context while refining their speaking and pronunciation skills.
Palabras de Alta Frecuencia
This section is designed for Spanish speaking students to explore high frequency words in Spanish. Students will practice using the words in context while refining their speaking and pronunciation skills.
ConceptLinks Literacy
This section offers reading and writing skills practice. Students will practice a different reading comprehension strategy through a specific theme. These lessons introduce and teach basic vocabulary and word-learning strategies and focus on building literacy, language, and concept comprehension.

Cognates
Cognates are words in two languages that share a similar meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. They often have the same linguistic derivation, making them an important tool for language learning. This section focuses on leveraging the similarities between English and Spanish words to support language comprehension. Students will engage with cognates making it easier to acquire proficiency in the target language.

Present Tense
This subsection includes four speaking practice activities, one listening assessment, and a Pronunciation Perfector activity, all focusing on present tense verbs.
Past and Future Tense
This subsection includes two speaking practices, one listening assessment, and a Pronunciation Perfector activity, all focusing on the past and future verb tense.
