Should I have one group or multiple groups? Can I make my groups to match my class periods? Should I have a class for each grade level I teach? How can I group students for reports? If you have any of these questions, continue reading as this article will cover Summit K12 recommendations.
The ability to set up Summit K12 courses based on these recommendations is also dependent on your district’s chosen set up method. If unsure, contact us or your district administrator or IT department.
Compartmentalized Classrooms
Pull-out/Tutoring Groups
Self-Contained Classrooms
Compartmentalized Classrooms
Scenario
I am a compartmentalized classroom teacher and teach two (or more) groups of students.
Recommended Class Set-Up
If students are in the same grade level, add groups (or class periods) and enroll students in their respective groups.
If students are in different grade levels, make sure to enroll students under their correct grade level. If you need to add groups (or class periods), make sure to do it under the class with their correct grade level*.
*If you don’t see a class with the grade level you need, submit a request and include the grade level(s) or subject(s) needed in your request.
How Will My Class Reports Look?
Reports are organized by class and group/period.
For example, if you have two class groups/periods, you will be able to access two individual class reports containing the data of the students enrolled in each group or period.
💡Tip: Rename classes to easily find and keep track of each group's progress.
