Using the Top Ten Page Filters
Getting to the Top Ten Page
District and School Administrator roles on Summit K12 can access the Top Ten page by first selecting the Home icon.
Next, select the Top Ten icon.
Teachers who are enrolled in a class on Summit K12 can access the Top Ten page by selecting the Home icon.
Top Ten Page Views
Users can select the dropdown near the top left of the Top Ten chart to filter between Top 10 data.
District Administrators can see the TX District Top 10, TX School Top 10, TX Teacher Top 25, TX Student Top 10, My District, and My Teachers.
Teachers and School Administrators can see the District Top 10, School Top 10, Teacher Top 25, and Student Top 10.
When ranked, data related to the district, school, or teacher will be outlined in blue and (Your District) or (Your Stats) will appear.
TX District Top 10 View
This is an overview of how a district's performance compares to other districts in Texas using Summit K12. A district must have a minimum of 250 students enrolled in a course for data to appear on this page.
TX School Top 10 View
This is an overview of how a school's performance compares to other schools in Texas. It lists the school and district. This page can be filtered by Elementary Schools (K-5), Middle Schools (6-8), and High Schools (9-12). A school must have a minimum of 50 students enrolled in a class for data to appear on this page.
TX Teacher Top 25 View
This is an overview of the top 25 teachers in Texas for each category. It lists the teacher's name, school, and district. This page can be filtered by Elementary Schools (K-5), Middle Schools (6-8), and High Schools (9-12). A teacher must have a minimum of 20 students enrolled in a course for data to appear on this page.
Student Top 10 View
This is an overview of the top 10 students for each TELPAS Domain. It includes ranking, student initials, school name, completion %, average score, and total points awarded out of 1000. This page can be filtered by domain, district, school, state, and grade level.
My District View
This is an overview of all schools in your district on Summit K12 and is only available to District Admin roles. A school must have a minimum of 50 students enrolled in a course for school data to appear on this page.
My Teachers
This is an overview of all teachers in your district on Summit K12 and is only available to District Admin roles. A teacher must have a minimum of 20 students enrolled in a course for data to appear on this page.
Top Ten Page Categories
There are 7 different Top 10 categories found on TX District Top 10, TX School Top 10, TX Teacher Top 25, My District, and My Teachers. They are as follows:
- Overall Usage - Number of questions answered in Assessment or Quiz activities. This includes all Pre-Tests, Interim Assessments, Summative Assessments, and Quizzes from Listening-Speaking, Reading-Writing, and ELPS Mastery courses.
- Avg min/week/student - Average number of minutes per week that a student spends on Summit K12
- # Listening quizzes/students - Average weekly amount of listening item-type quizzes that have been completed by students.
- # Speaking quizzes/students - Average weekly amount of speaking item-type quizzes that have been completed by students in a week.
- # Reading quizzes/students - Average weekly amount of reading item-type quizzes that have been completed by students.
- # Writing quizzes/students - Average weekly amount of writing item-type quizzes that have been completed by students.
- Avg % PP Items completed - Average percent of Pronunciation Perfector (PP) items completed in The Basics section of Listening-Speaking.
Using the Top Ten Page Filters
The TX School Top 10, TX Teacher Top 25, Student Top 10, and My Teachers can be filtered further by selecting the drop-down in the top right corner. This drop-down will allow filtering data by grade level bands*.
*District Admins will need to go to the My Courses page and select a school from the Schools dropdown that falls within the selected grade level band for data to appear on TX School Top 10.
Data for each of the categories can be seen by selecting the light blue Top Ten button under each of the category titles.
The Student Top 10 page has additional filtering options. It can be filtered by TELPAS Domain, School/District/State Level, and Grade Level Band.
Reading the Top 10 Data
Two numbers with a dash in-between will show when selecting a Top Ten category. The first number is the ranking of the school/district/teacher and the next number is the items or minutes completed, depending on the category chosen.
