An active subscription to Summit K12's Connect to Literacy program now includes Family Access!
Family Access is an optional feature designed for relatives who are interested in developing their English proficiency. It allows them to enhance their own English language development at home by utilizing components from our existing program. It’s a great way for families to engage together in language learning!

How to Log In
Each student enrolled in a Connect to Literacy course has access to four Family User accounts. To find login information for these accounts, your student can select Family Access from the My Account dropdown menu.
Family User accounts will log in at our website (https://lms.summitk12.com) with the User ID and Password provided. For details about Summit K12's system requirements, visit Technical Specifications.
How It Works
These accounts are set up as "students" in Summit K12. After logging in, users are automatically directed to their dashboard, My Summit Base, where the ELD Pre-Test Benchmarks are automatically assigned*.
*Appearance of the My Summit Base dashboard and the number of ELD Pre-Tests available will vary depending on State.
Once family users finish the ELD Pre-Test, they can submit it for scoring. After submission, they’ll receive instant feedback on their performance for each question.
Completing the ELD Pre-Test will create a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) that automatically assigns English language activities based on the user's test results*! As an activity is completed, the next one available will automatically unlock allowing users to complete the PLP at their own pace.
*All ELD Pre-Tests must be completed for a TREK to appear in all four language domains.
After completing all ELD Pre-Tests and corresponding PLP #1s, the ELD Interim Benchmark is auto-assigned. The same logic would then apply to PLP #2s and then the final ELD Summative Benchmark and PLP #3s.
Additional Information
These accounts do not require a teacher to assign content and progress cannot be viewed by school personnel. Family user accounts operate separately from the students' accounts and do not follow assignment dates or district testing windows the student accounts are subjected to.
Family users can always review their completed activities in My PLP or My Assignments by selecting Completed Assignments.
