Manual Control (MC)
Normally, audio for instructions and/or presentations automatically plays as soon as a student begins their ELD Benchmark or WIDA Readiness quiz. Manual Control (MC) lets the student decide when to start the audio. Once the audio has started, it cannot be stopped by the student, and it will only play one time.
When Manual Control (MC) is enabled, a play button will appear on the screen. The student will select the play button to begin the audio when they are ready.
Manual Control (MC) is currently available in the following sections of the WIDA Mastery class:
Interpretive Mode* | Expressive Mode |
ELD Benchmarks for Listening WIDA Readiness - Listening
|
ELD Benchmarks for Speaking and Writing WIDA Readiness - Writing
WIDA Readiness - Speaking

*Accommodations are not available for the Reading domain of the WIDA Mastery course.
Repeat Audio (RA)
Audio for instructions and/or presentations will automatically play when the student opens the next section of the assessment or WIDA Readiness quiz. Normally, the audio will only play one time. With Repeat Audio (RA) enabled, the student can use the replay button to play the audio again.

Applying Both Manual Control (MC) and Repeat Audio (RA)
Teachers can enable both accommodation options for students, if needed. This will allow the student to use Manual Control (MC) to decide when to start the audio. After the audio has played one time, the play button will turn into the replay button. Then, the student can use Repeat Audio (RA) to hear the audio again.
Accommodation Error
Summit K12 recommends setting all accommodations before students begin an ELD Benchmark or activity. Otherwise, accommodation changes will automatically reflect on the next page of in-progress assignments*.
If a student experiences inconsistencies when testing due to an accommodation error, contact Summit K12 Support for guidance.
*The student may also log out and log back in to see any accommodation changes. It is best practice to clear the cache on the device when following this method.
