Students can monitor and visualize their progress on Summit K12 as they complete their Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) through Summit K12’s Avatar feature*.
*Students must have a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) generated in order to access the Avatar feature.
Viewing Avatar Progress
After finishing a row of their Personalized Learning Plan (PLP), students will be shown a short animated graphic of their Avatar trekking towards the Summit of Mt. Everest.
Students can also view their Trek progress at any time. To access their Trek(s), students will select My Account on Summit K12. Next, they will select My Avatar from the dropdown menu.
On the next page, students can toggle between their different PLP Treks (if applicable). Treks will appear once the student has taken at least one ELD Benchmark for that course.
Students must finish the PLPs in sequential order to begin tracking progress. For instance, if a student has completed both the Pre-Test and Interim ELD Benchmarks, they need to finish PLP #1 before tracking their Avatar’s progress in PLP #2.
Avatar Customization
Students can customize their Avatars. To access the customization options, students will select My Account on Summit K12. Next, they will select My Avatar from the dropdown menu.
Finally, they will select My Profile on the student Avatar progress pop-up or My Avatar page.
A Personalize your Avatar pop-up will appear. Students can choose their Avatar and their Avatar’s skin tone. Current selected options will be outlined in blue. When finished customizing, students should select the Save button.
