The Writing assessments we offer in our Connect to Literacy program for WIDA are unscored by our AI and will need to be scored by the teacher. A student's Writing score will remain as "Pending" until the student's responses have been scored. Once the constructed response items have been scored, the Writing portion of a student's Expressive Mode ILLP will be generated.
1. Log in and select My Courses.
2. To score your students' constructed responses on the Writing assessment, go to the class you would like to grade and click Reports. This will open your TEACHER REPORTS DASHBOARD.
3. Under Expressive Mode Reports, select Expressive Mode Progress.
4. You can quickly toggle between Expressive and Interpretive Modes using the Report drop-down on the upper right. Click on a student’s name to view their individual score report. Students without a score have not started or submitted the assessment.
5. Click on Pending for the Writing Assessment that needs to be scored.
6. Scroll down to the student's responses. Click on the green Score: Pending box to open the rubric for that question.
7. Hover over the Proficiency Level Descriptors and Grading Categories to find guides to assist with scoring.
Assign a Level for each category and click Save to save the student's score.
8. After scoring all constructed responses, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Finish to save and update the student’s Writing score.
