General Information
Item types are differentiated by grade bands and are included in students' Personalized Learning Plans or can be unlocked as a standalone assignment for students to complete.
When using the quizzes as standalone assignments, we recommend unlocking them vertically versus horizontally to ensure students have exposure to each item type. Lesson Model Videos can be watched in whole-group settings. Check/uncheck the box to require the Lesson Model Video before students can start a quiz.
Scored item type quizzes will be included in ELPAC Readiness reports and in the Composite Summary Report.

Listening and Speaking (Oral Language)
The Listening-Speaking course in our Connect to Literacy for ELPAC Readiness contains over 2,500 practice items that are modeled after the 11 unique ELPAC listening and speaking item types. All oral language item types include lesson model videos while speaking items include Model Exemplars students can listen to during quiz feedback. Teachers can also listen to students' recorded responses to provide more targeted intervention.
Quizzes in Listening and Speaking are auto-scored by our AI. Occasionally, a score may say Pending if the AI is still scoring the student's responses. Users typically only need to refresh the page to find their scores. During periods of high traffic on our LMS, it may take up to 24 hours for a score to appear.
Reading and Writing (Written Language)
The Reading-Writing course in our Connect to Literacy product contains 16 ELPAC reading and writing item types, with lesson model videos and available scaffolds across 7 different grade bands.
Quizzes in Reading are auto-scored by our AI, while most item type quizzes in Writing will need to be scored by the teacher. A Pending notification will appear until the quiz has been scored. To learn how to score ELPAC Writing item types, please view this article.
