Overview
Users encountering an issue on Summit K12 while using an iPad can be caused by a number of reasons including, but not limited to -
- Accessing Summit K12 with an internet browser instead of the Summit K12 iOS app
- Outdated iPadOS
- Outdated Summit K12 iOS app
- Internet connectivity
Summit K12 iPad User Guide
1. Users accessing Summit K12 on an iPad are required to use the Summit K12 iOS application to ensure all features are fully supported. Accessing Summit K12 with an internet browser (Chrome, Safari, etc) on an iPad will result in usability issues.

Compatible Device
1. Please ensure the user is using a compatible device and Operating System. Summit K12's system requirements can be found here.
2. Next, check to see if the iPad iOS and Summit K12 iOS apps are updated to the latest version available*. Click one of the links below to take you to the manufacturer's website for additional support:
*Users' ability to manually update district-issued devices is at the discretion of the district's IT/Tech department. Contact your district's IT/Tech dept for additional assistance if you are unable to update your device to meet Summit K12's system requirements.
Recording Issues on iPad
1. First, make sure the microphone has been enabled for the Summit K12 iOS application.
2. All iPads (Mini, Air, Pro) have at least 1 built-in microphone. Make sure the microphone(s) are not being obstructed by your hands, a case, or another object when attempting to record on Summit K12.
3. If the iPad's microphone is not functioning, use headphones with a working built-in microphone (if a headphone port is available)
4. Switch out the iPad with another device that has functioning recording capabilities
5. Contact a campus technician or your district's tech support for assistance

Predictive Text & Auto-Correction on iPad
Educators may want to disable predictive text and auto-correction on students' iPads, particularly for text entry or constructed response items in their Summit K12 courses.
These features can be easily disabled by following the instructions in one of the manufacturer's help articles below*:
*Students may be able to turn on/off predictive text or auto-correction themselves. Contact your district's IT/Tech dept for questions about limiting students' access to these iPad features.
Loading Issues on Summit K12 iOS app
1. Check internet connectivity as network congestion can lead to slow load times. Connect to a different Wi-Fi or wait until a period of low internet usage on your campus.
2. Close unnecessary applications that may be operating in the background
3. Review the webpage: If your iPhone or iPad is running slow
4. Restart or Force Restart your iPad
