In this guide, we will show you how to access and listen to student recordings as a teacher in all 3 locations where a student will record answers.
The 3 locations where the student will submit audio recordings in the program are:
- Speaking questions in the ELD Benchmarks
- Speaking activities in a PLP (Personalized Learning Plan)
- Individually unlocked Speaking activities (The Basics, Differentiated Practice, and TELPAS Readiness Speaking)
If a recording cannot be heard following these instructions, this indicates one of the following may have occurred:
- The student submitted the benchmark/activity without a recording
- The student's microphone was not enabled on their browser or iPad during recording
- The student's microphone is not functioning correctly

Speaking Questions in the ELD Benchmarks
1. Select My Courses.
2. Navigate to your class and click Reports. This will open your TEACHER REPORTS DASHBOARD.
3. Select the Listening-Speaking Progress report which will show you ELD benchmark data and student PLP progress.
4. You will now see student scores if they have completed and submitted the ELD benchmarks. In order to see a student’s benchmark, click on the hyperlinked student name.
5. This will reveal the student's individual report. Open the desired Speaking benchmark by clicking on the hyperlinked score.
6. Scroll down to the speaking questions and listen to the student's answer by clicking the play button. You can also listen to the model exemplar if one is available for that question.
Speaking Activities in a PLP (Personalized Learning Plan)
1. Return to the student's report to view their PLP and click on a completed speaking activity.
2. Listen to the student's answer by clicking the play button. You can also listen to the model exemplar if one is available for that question.
Individually Unlocked Speaking Activities
1. Navigate to your class Reports and select the Speaking reports for the section in which you individually unlocked activities.
2. On the class report, click on the student's hyperlinked name or on the completed activity to listen to the student's answers.
