A testing window refers to a period when a progress monitoring assessment may be administered to students. The testing window is an optional feature that can only be set by users with a District Administrator account on Summit K12. If utilized, the testing window would apply to all campuses within the same district on our LMS.
District Administrators can set/edit Testing Windows for the following programs:
School Admins and Teachers can only view dates for any established Testing Windows:
When a testing window has been set for an assessment, the applicable assessment is eligible for unlocking at 12:01 am on the day the window opens. Attempts to unlock the assessment before the window opens will not be recognized.
The assessment will not automatically unlock. Users (Lead Teachers, Support Teachers, and/or School Administrators) need to unlock the assessment in an individual class on the day they plan to administer it.
The assessment will automatically close and lock at 11:59 pm on the day the window closes. Once the testing window closes, students can no longer submit an assessment.
If a testing window for an assessment has not been determined, then teachers are able to lock and unlock the assessments at their discretion. We recommend contacting your district or school administration if a testing window has not been set and additional guidance is needed.
