It is always a good idea to check your microphone before you start on a speaking activity or assessment. Speaking activities are marked with a .
Be sure to test your microphone before starting your work on Summit K12. You can test your microphone on speaking questions at any time!
To test your microphone, follow these easy steps:
1. Look for your online toolbar below the question numbers.
2. Click on the Test Microphone button for the speaking question you are working on.
Note: Make sure you are on a question that needs to record your voice, or the will not show on your page.
3. You will see a Set Up Your Microphone box pop up.
If #1 and #2 are green, click on Test Your Microphone. Then go to Step 4 on this page.
If #1 or #2 are red, then go to Step 5 on this page.
4. Say “1, 2, 3, 4, 5” in your normal speaking voice.
If the green bars move, click Yes and then press Continue. You are finished and ready to start recording! Good luck!
If the green bars DO NOT move, check your audio settings, make sure your microphone is connected, or switch headsets. Always ask your teacher for help if needed.
Click on the at the top left to exit and test the mic again.
5. If #1 is red, Summit K12 needs access to your microphone.
