Learn how to assign TEKS-related activities in your Summit K12 Dynamic Science courses! To assign a practice test, please view How to Assign a Practice Test - Dynamic Sciences. Information about reassigning or unassigning content can be found in Assigning Summit K12 Activities.
1. To assign an activity, select My Course on your Teacher Dashboard or My Courses in the navigation bar.
2. Navigate to your desired class and select the section where you want to assign an activity.
For STAAR/EOC-tested* classes, be sure to select the red lock button of the appropriate module first to unlock its contents for your students before navigating to a specific section. The green lock button
indicates the section is unlocked and available for students to access.
*The STAAR/EOC review section will become available to unlock and assign content from closer to the date of the STAAR/EOC test. This section can only be unlocked if it is live and available. If the section is not available, attempts to unlock the section will not be recognized.
3. After choosing a section, select a Reporting Category or subsection if applicable.
4. Select the corresponding Assign button of the activity you wish to assign. Depending on the content, you will either assign an individual activity or an entire row of activities.
For Concept Mastery activities, the Individual Assign feature can be enabled so that activities can be assigned separately rather than as a set. This can be enabled from your account’s Course Settings.
6. Use the checkbox to select which student(s) the activity will be assigned to. All students who do not currently have the activity assigned in your class will be automatically selected. Only students enrolled in the selected class will appear.
7. Choose the Start Date & Time, Due Date & Time, and Close Date & Time for the assignment*. The Due Date must be set after the Start Date and, if applicable, before the Close Date.
Start Date & Time (required): The date and time the assignment becomes available for students to access. The assignment will not appear on students’ dashboards until the Start Date/Time.
Due Date & Time (optional): The date and time the assignment must be completed.
Close Date & Time (optional): The assignment will be removed from the students' dashboard at the selected date/time and becomes unavailable for students to access. This field will auto-populate with a Close Date for the end of the year unless chosen otherwise.
*Timestamps are based on the local time settings of the computer.
8. Select Apply and Assign to selected student(s). When new students are enrolled in the class, the system will not auto-assign the activity. Teachers must return to the activity and assign Start, Due, and/or Close dates for the newly enrolled students.
9. The Assign icon will indicate whether the content has been assigned to none, some, or all students enrolled in the corresponding Summit K12 class.
