ELPAC Writing Practice-Mastery offers various constructed response quizzes for students to practice their writing. This component is housed in the Reading-Writing course in the Writing section. The item type quizzes with constructed responses will vary by grade level:
Course Grade | Constructed Response Writing Type |
K | All Writing Types are auto-scored |
1st-2nd |
Type 2: Writing a Story Together with Scaffolding |
1st-12th |
Type 4: Describe a Picture |
3rd-12th |
Type 6: Write About Academic Input |
A majority of the responses in these quizzes are not auto-scored by our system, so when teachers choose to unlock these quizzes as standalone assignments or if they appear in students' PLPs, teachers are encouraged to score the responses using the built-in rubrics to provide a more accurate reflection of the student's writing capabilities*.
