Enable Accommodations
To enable accommodations, follow the steps below:
1. Log in and select My Course on your Teacher Dashboard or My Courses in the navigation bar.
2. Navigate to the Dynamic Science class for which you want to enable accommodations.
3. Select Manage followed by Accommodations.
4. The class roster will appear with a list of all available accommodations. Hover your cursor over each accommodation to identify which area of the course the accommodation will appear in.
5. Choose the correct accommodation(s) for each student by checking the box in the corresponding column.
6. Once the appropriate accommodation(s) have been chosen, select Save.
Text-to-Speech (TTS)
As a standard feature, auditory support is offered for all vocabulary activities. Teachers will also have an additional Text-to-Speech (TTS) accommodation that provides auditory support in English for questions and answers in all assessments (i.e. quizzes and the STAAR/EOC Practice Test if applicable).
Students will see a Play button next to the directions, questions, and/or answer choices. Students should select the Play
button next to the text they would like to have read aloud*.
*We recommend students wear headphones if they are working in a group setting.

Calculator
Students who take the 5th-grade Science STAAR assessment and meet TEA’s eligibility criteria to use a calculator as an accommodation can now have the same experience on Summit K12.
When enabled, the calculator will appear in the students’ online tools menu.
The calculator can be enabled as an accommodation in any 5th-grade Dynamic Science/Spanish Science class and is available in all assessments (i.e. quizzes and the STAAR Practice Test).
Content and Language Supports
Content and Language Supports are only available on the STAAR or EOC Practice Test in 5th, 8th, and Biology. When enabled, students will see predetermined text outlined in their questions and/or answers. Students can click on the outlined text to view related images or short definitions of the corresponding text.
