The ELD Writing assessments offered in our Connect to Literacy program for California English Language Development are autoscored after submission.
Our automated scoring system is built to streamline grading and save educators valuable time. Teachers have complete flexibility to review and adjust scores at any point, ensuring accuracy and maintaining control over the grading process.
Use the following instructions to review and, if needed, overwrite the auto-scored responses. Overwriting the automated score is an irreversible, permanent action. Though the auto-graded score will no longer be available, the score can be edited manually at any time.
1. Select Reports on your Teacher Dashboard.
2. Use the Class dropdown menu to view reports for your desired class.
3. Under Written Language Reports, select R-W CA Benchmarks & PLPs.
4. Under the W column, select the score to review the student’s Writing assessment.
5. The green bar will indicate the Auto Graded Score. Select to open the built-in rubric used for scoring.
6. Select Edit to overwrite the auto-graded score.
7. Choose a new score and select Save. The system will remove the Auto Graded Score indicator.
8. Complete steps 6-7 for the remaining constructed responses as needed and select Finish at the bottom of the page to be redirected to the report dashboard.
9. If the auto-graded scores were overwritten, a new Writing score will populate under the W column.
If the new Writing score is at a higher PLD level than the original score, the student’s PLP will readjust to reflect the new score.
